LIVING STILL

Living Still is a series and installation documenting a point of view and dimension that’s lost when interacting virtually. I first experienced this for a prolonged period during the pandemic. This was the first time I lived and communicated solely on different sized screens via Zoom. Before each of these calls, I’d photograph the back of my head documenting one small aspect or detail of me that was lost on the screen. Since this form of interaction, only allows you to see what is in the frame the small complexities of a person is lost by flattening them on the screen.

This series consists of still and lenticular images, using various photographic mediums and techniques to highlight the 2D-ness of this form of communication.
